In this College Board-approved course, students prepare for the AP English Language and Composition exam. The course focuses on the development and revision of evidence-based analytic and argumentative writing. Students will develop skills in rhetorical analysis of nonfiction texts. Time will be spent studying decisions writers make as they compose and revise. Students will evaluate, synthesize, and cite research to support arguments. Students will read and analyze rhetorical elements and their effects in nonfiction texts - including images - from a range of disciplines and historical periods.
