This course is designed to provide an introduction to the field of child development and psychology as well as an insight into the policies and practices of early childhood education providers. The course focuses on the early years (from birth to age 6) and utilizes resources produced at both the state and national levels including state regulations of child care facilities. Students engage with the content in a practical way by creating and demonstrating activities, lessons, storytelling, and other related tasks.

Our students need 21st century skills to be successful in today's society.  The ability to understand the early childhood education system and explore a career in the field is a marketable skill that benefits both our students and the local community!
