This course focuses on the fundamental components and principles of fitness, including competency in motor skills, movement patterns, and strategies needed to perform a variety of physical activities. Students will work towards achieving a level of physical fitness for health and performance while demonstrating knowledge of fitness concepts, principles, and strategies.

Physical Activity Requirement: Pursuant to CA Ed Code Ed Code 51222[a], students enrolled in this course are required to complete 60 hours of physical activity that are signed off by an approved fitness professional per semester. Because of this requirement, students may only enroll in 1 semester of PE at a time.

PE 2 is an active course designed to support a healthy lifestyle today and through adulthood. It consists of applying the principles of fitness through weekly activity logs as the students cover the various components of Skill and Health-related fitness.
