Students learn to observe and analyze through hands-on experiments, and gain further insight into how scientists understand our world. They observe and chart the phases of the moon, determine the properties of insulators and conductors, and make a three-dimensional model of a bone.

In Science 3, students learn about weather and the different climates around the world. They then transition into learning about the characteristics of organisms along with the structure, function, and reproduction of plants. They will also learn what characteristics allows some organisms to survive while others go extinct followed by understanding how fossils are formed and what makes them rare.
