This is a beginning level course which covers the organization of The Elements of Design by providing the students the opportunity to apply these skills in two and three dimensional projects within an art studio environment with an emphasis in Latin culture. Students will study design elements, drawing, color theory, painting, the critiquing process, as well as the contributions of Latin individuals and cultural movements to the art of today. Students learn design vocabulary to critique their work and the work of others. Careers in the Arts will be explored.

The arts offers students the opportunity to explore another side of themselves and the Visual Arts and Communication Pathway makes that exploration practical as it provides career support for students' post-secondary plans.
